Nice is a town of flowers, old districts and sunlit walk, of big palaces and business centers. It remains one of the main landmarks of the "Côte d’Azur", not only for its luxury and charm but also for its culture and history. Undulating landscapes, where olive trees and fruit trees still grow amidst the luxurious villas, form the countryside surrounding Nice. There, only a short distance away, hillside villages manage to preserve their identity and charm of yesteryear.

The NICE Carnaval

It is also a Carnival Town, a popular spectacular annual celebrates originated in 1294, which salutes with laughter and colour the local cultural and artistic heritage. The Carnival is one of the most famous in the world and compares with Rio, Trinidad and Venice. For 2 weeks, in February, there are processions with floats and battles of flowers. The show ends with the burning of the Carnival Queen at the "Quay of the United States" and a fireworks display.
